Welcome to my first post!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soy ciudadana Americana por naturalizaci\u00f3n, Tejana de coraz\u00f3n, y Regia de nacimiento. I was born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon Mexico and raised in The Rio Grande Valley. When I first moved to the United States, I didn’t speak a word of English but interestingly enough the words “Hello” and  “Thank You” became my favorite words. For a long time, I felt I was trapped between two worlds- kind of like the India Mar\u00eda- ni de aqu\u00ed ni de all\u00e1. Just like many others, I came as a child into the country illegally. I was told to always keep a low profile so I wouldn’t be noticed by the border patrol.  Growing up, I faced challenges adapting to a new country, learning a new language and tried to figure out how to adapt to a new life without losing my roots, native language, culture and traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Elizabeth Roy and I would love to share my life journey with you. I used to think that showing my vulnerability was a sign of weakness but it was really my strength all along. In here I will share the experiences that shaped me, the traditions that I still cherish and practice, the unimaginable superstitious remedies that were passed from my family from generations, the authentic, direct, honest, and unapologetic way that I approach life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
