I was born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon Mexico and raised in The Rio Grande Valley. When I first moved to the United States, I didn&#8217;t speak a word of English but interestingly enough the words &#8220;Hello&#8221; and&nbsp; &#8220;Thank You&#8221; became my favorite words. For a long time, I felt I was trapped between two worlds- kind of like the India Mar\u00eda- ni de aqu\u00ed ni de all\u00e1. Just like many others, I came as a child into the country illegally. I was told to always keep a low profile so I wouldn&#8217;t be noticed by the border patrol.&nbsp; Growing up, I faced challenges adapting to a new country, learning a new language and tried to figure out how to adapt to a new life without losing my roots, native language, culture and traditions.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>My name is Elizabeth Roy and I would love to share my life journey with you. I used to think that showing my vulnerability was a sign of weakness but it was really my strength all along.
